MIKE’S BIKES/BHS MOUNTAIN BIKE TEAM 2001/2002
SUPPORT AGREEMENT

In order to ensure that the relationship between Mike’s Bikes and The BHS Mountain Bike Team is mutually beneficial, the following policy has been approved. Changes can be made at any time. This agreement is set for the team's active training and racing season (October – May). The shop may choose to not offer benefits during the off-season.

SAFETY REGARDED AS TOP PRIORITY

Safety equipment will be provided at the highest discount. Helmets, safety lights, and other safety devices will be available at cost plus 10% (Unless there are inventory shortages).

One tune-up/safety check will be provided at the beginning of the season (fall time). This does not include free parts.

The Team will always practice safe riding practices, including courtesy on the trails, at the races, and on training rides around Berkeley. The team members will wear helmets at all times, and use nightlights at dusk or night.

MERCHANDISE DISCOUNT

Mike’s Bikes will give team members a 20% discount on bike parts and equipment. Subject to availability.

JERSEYS

Mike’s Bikes will make jersey orders and deposits based on numbers provided by the team. The jerseys will be designed by the team and will include Mike’s Bikes logos. Uniforms will be sold to team members at a cost + 10% discount and Mike’s Bikes will sell the remainder to store customers. Team members will wear the jerseys at all the local, regional, and national cross-country races they attend, during the races and the awards ceremonies.

RECOGNITION OF ACCOMPLISHMENT

Mike’s Bikes will award gift certificates to team members who place in the top five in their respective racing categories. This includes Billycross, Sea Otter Classic, Sizzler, Napa World Cup, Boggs Mtn. Bash, and the NorCal High School Finals. The amounts will be $25 for first, down to $5 for fifth.

To receive gift certificates athletes must provide Mike’s proof of placements. This should be in the form of a race results printout and their ribbon/medal to Mike’s Bikes.

SHOP EMBASSADORS

The team will strive to make Mike’s Bikes generosity and quality as a bike shop known to the public. The team will also invite Mike’s Bikes to participate in its publicity events.

CLEAN BIKES AND PATIENCE

The team will always bring in clean bikes out of respect for the mechanics and the shop. Customers are the priority and team members are always "last in line." Rudeness and impatience will not be tolerated. Team members should visit the shop at non-peak hours. These times are ?.

Mike’s will provide cross-country mountain bikes at a 15% discount to team members during the teams training/racing season. Subject to availability
