Join us October 2nd - 5th, 2025

We’re hosting our annual coach retreat in the beautiful Jackson State Forest for a weekend full of riding bikes, eating food, hanging out with other coaches, and the option to take CPR and/or First Aid, MTB 101, and participate in a skills clinic with Brian Astell. Do as little or as much as you want; attend workshops, or come for the camaraderie, it’s up to you. Lodging will be in shared tent cabins, and all food, drink, MTB 101, and entertainment are included with your registration fee. We will be hosting our annual dance party.

Coaches will have the resources available to reach their Level 2 Coach License at this retreat.

Have you been to the woodlands?

Check out this video to learn more about the foundation and maintenance of this national treasure, and their decision to move to 100% renewable energy. Take a look at pictures from our 2023 MEGA Retreat here.

Here’s where our camp is.

The trails in Mendocino are incredible. You’re surrounded by fern gullies, massive redwoods, and some of the best loam known to mountain bikers. The woodlands offer trails for all skill levels, ranging from the beautiful nature trail that parallels the Little River, to classic runs on Endo, Oh-no and Boiler.

We are thrilled to offer this retreat, which truly has something for everyone. The main focus of our Coach Retreats is for our fantastic coaches [you!] to get to know each other, have fun, ride bikes, and learn from one another’s experiences coaching interscholastic mtb teams; however, this retreat also offers many more opportunities.

Our agenda will be roughly as follows:

Check in on Thursday after 12p or Friday morning. If you arrive on Thursday and we aren’t there for check-in, please check in on Friday morning.

Thursday: Arrive at the woodlands anytime after noon and check in. We’ll plan on doing a chill group ride once enough folks have checked in. Please bring your own dinner (there is a full kitchen at camp). We’ll have a chill fireside chat before lights out.

Friday: After breakfast, we’ll have a number of activities to choose from, including CPR, First Aid, MTB 101, and more. We’ll be updating this section with more details as we get closer to the event. Just know there will be plenty of fun things to choose from, and you’re also free to go on your own ride or relax in the redwoods. Each evening we will have social hours with entertainment, followed by family-style dinners in the main lodge at our camp, with a campfire after dinner.

Saturday: After breakfast, we’ll have bike ride options followed by a skills clinic with Brian Astell, pre-dinner happy hour, and post-dinner dance party.

Sunday: Morning yoga and meditation, breakfast, bike ride, then pack up and make your way back home with a bag-lunch, full heart, a host of new coaching skills, a bunch of CEUs, new friends, and Mendocino miles in your legs.

Thank you to our Sponsors!

We’re stoked to announce that Brian Astell from RideTrailWorks will be joining us and hosting group skills clinics. If you haven’t had the opportunity to learn skills from Brian, you’ve been missing out. He is a highly talented instructor with tips fit for all levels of riding.
